I remember back in college I was building a word game and I needed to find as exhaustive of an English word database as I could. I seem to remember finding the location of the system word set on the MBP I had at the time. I tried finding better resources than that, but didn't come up with much at that time.

Nicole mentions several, new-to-me sources in this post that I would make sure to check out the next time I need that sort of thing.
